Chromebooks & Hotspots To Go

Need a tech device on the go? We offer 20 Chromebooks and  hotspots to check out. You’ll find these devices at the second-floor service desk at the Main Library and at the service desk at the Douglass Branch. 

When using a Chromebook, be sure to save your files to a Cloud account or flash drive, since Chromebooks remove any files when you restart. An internet connection is necessary to use these devices.


The library offers computers for all ages at both branches, with free access to the internet.

Our computers are Windows 7, with 23" monitors and  DVD+/-RW. Available browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. Available software includes Microsoft Office 2016 Pro, Photoscape, iTunes, Windows DVD Maker, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and Adobe Reader.

The library offers four Creation Stations with dual 24" Dell Ultrasharp  Infinity edge monitors. In addition to the standard software listed above, these computes  have   Acrobat Pro CC |  Adobe Illustrator CC |   Adobe InDesign CC |  Adobe Lightroom CC | Adobe Photoshop CCAdobe Premier Pro CC | GIMP | Blender | Scratch | SketchUp.  Each workstation includes a Wacom Intuos  digitizer tablet, with  a shared Silhouette Cameo craft cutter/printer available. Reserve time  at the service desk on the second floor.

In addition, we have a Chromebook available for use in the Children’s area for parents with young children.

Age-appropriate games are installed on the Children’s computers.

Disability support

The library offers two computers with ZoomText. Dvorak keyboard and Big Track Super mouse also available at  the second floor Ask Here desk.


iPads with age-appropriate games are available in our Children’s area and Teenspace at the Main Library, and at the checkout desk at the Douglass Branch.


No eReader? No problem! We have over 20 Kindles loaded with ebooks for you to borrow. From new bestsellers to older classics, historical fiction to literary nonfiction, we have a Kindle to suit your taste. You’ll find Kindles-to-Go at the second floor Ask Here desk, at the Children’s and Teenspace desks at the Main Library, and at the checkout desk at the Douglass Branch.

Technology in Teenspace
