Join us at the library for coffee, socializing, and learning something new.
This summer, we'll celebrate our library’s 150th anniversary during Tuesdays at Ten with a dive into library and local history. We have a lineup of experts ready to share stories, old and new.
The Egyptian Trail was one of a handful of named auto trails in east-central Illinois created by “good roads” advocates in the early 20th century. It ran the length of Illinois from Chicago to Cairo, but this talk will focus on its promotion, creation, and location in Champaign County.
About the Presenter: Rick D. Williams is a local historian, writer, and retired educator. His work has focused on churches and schools in Champaign-Urbana, rural churches and other historic sites in Champaign County, and local history driving tours. He lives in Mahomet.
