Tuesdays at Ten | Libraries: Global Reach - Local Touch
Tue, Jun 2, 2026
10:00 am – 11:00 am
Join us at the library for coffee, socializing, and learning something new.
This summer, we'll celebrate our library’s 150th anniversary during Tuesdays at Ten with a dive into library and local history. We have a lineup of experts ready to share stories, old and new.
Barbara J. Ford will join us this week to talk about her ALA initiative titled "Libraries: Global Reach - Local Touch." Libraries around the world serve local communities while providing global connections. These connections promote international education, understanding, and peace.
About the Presenter: Barbara J. Ford worked in academic and public libraries for over 50 years. She was president of the American Library Association 1997-1998 and served as director of the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs at the University of Illinois from 2003-2014.
