How the Friends Help

The Library Friends contributions come from steady FriendShop Bookstore sales and annual membership dues. The store is staffed entirely by volunteers, so every dollar benefits the library.

Want to help? Join the Library Friends or volunteer in the store.

Made possible with support from the Library Friends:
  • Great Authors at the Library series bringing world-class authors to Champaign
  • New books and ebooks to the library’s collection
  • iPads & activity cubes for children’s area
  • The Studio at the Library
  • Summer reading programs for kids, teens, and adults
  • Ready Set Read! early literacy program
  • Battle of the Books competition for grades 3–5
  • Teen afterschool programs
  • Juneteenth Emancipation Celebration at the Douglass Branch
  • Online learning resources
  • Beautification of library grounds

Get involved
