The Illinois Department of Employment Security and the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity have joined to provide Get Hired Illinois. This online portal is dedicated to connecting Illinois residents with access to new skills training, job and career opportunities, and virtual job fairs.
IllinoisJobLink.com is the state of Illinois’s help wanted internet job board managed by the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Career or job seekers can look for work or create and upload multiple resumes through the website’s Resume Builder to emphasize experience and skills. Employers can post positions, search the resume database, and match people with careers or jobs.
About the Presenter: Don Ryan, an IllinoisJobLink.com Statewide Trainer from the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) will demonstrate navigation of IllinoisJobLink.com including how to build a resume using helpful content suggestions provided by Illinois Job Link. He has been with the IDES for sixteen years assisting employers as a Business Services Manager and most recently as the IllinoisJobLink.com Statewide Trainer. In this position, Don explains the purpose and benefits of utilizing IllinoisJobLink.com to IDES staff, Local Workforce Investment Areas (LWIAs), other state agencies, college and/or university career groups, and employer and job seeker groups.
About the Presenter: David Garvey, Content Manager with Southern Illinois University, has been with SIU for approximately three years assisting workforce partners, businesses, and job seekers in their workforce goals.
