Cover Letter Basics

  • Expresses your career interests in a way that makes you a viable long-term employee
  • Shares desire to work for a particular company in ways that gets the company excited about you
  • Provides evidence of the transferrable skills that make you qualified for a specific position.

About the Presenter:  Dawn Kutza teaches online Communication and Professional Skills courses in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington. She’s taught psychology courses and worked in student residential living at several colleges. She spent 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry creating and managing technical, soft-skills, and leadership training and development programs. She has consulted for universities to improve processes, facilitate teamwork, and increase individual performance. Dawn is a Certified Practitioner of Positive Psychology.
