Tuesdays at Ten | Out in the Garden

Join us at the library for coffee, socializing, and learning something new.

This month is all about plants and springing into the growing season!

• April 7 - Gardens
• April 14 - All about Bees, Pollinating, and Honey
  •  Learn about the innerworkings of a honeybee colony. Chat about pollination and Curtis Orchards award winning honey. 
    • Rachel Coventry is the beekeeper at Curtis Orchard and Pumpkin Patch in Southwest Champaign. Her passion for bees started in 2009 when she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, South America. She returned to the Unites States in 2011 and joined her grandfather, Paul Curtis in beekeeping. She enjoys sharing the fascinating world of bees and cares about providing habitat for all pollinators. 
• April 21 - House Plants
• April 28 - Homegrown National Park
  • Homegrown National Parks addresses the urgent biodiversity crisis with a simple, science-based solution to a Global challenge. Learn clear steps that you can take to regenerate biodiversity and add your property to the Homegrown National Park Biodiversity Map. 
    • Morgan Duerson-Balk is an environmental public program specialist for the Champaign County Forest Preserve, She is educated in both natural resources and elementary education, and conducts programs all over Champaign County at the 7 Forest Preserves and beyond.
