Telling Your Story | Research & Identity

Thu, Jun 22, 2023
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Start + Grow Your Business

Who can you count on to make you look good? Who do you rely on to make sure you’re saying the right things to the media? Who’s your on-demand stylist? Who’ll give you true and real-time information about what’s going on in your community and around the world?

Designing the right messages for businesses starts with good, old-fashioned planning and putting pen to paper. You can begin your champion diary, have one person coaching you through all of those tasks, or you hire an agency to get this handled. This workshop will coach you on how to go write before things go left.

During this introductory stage, we discuss where to source industry-specific information, how to find out what the markets are saying, and how to write messaging that fills that gap.

About the Presenter:

Shannon McFarland is Venture Associate at High Street Equity Partners, focusing on communications and content strategy. Shannon is a seasoned communications professional with experience across sports, media and entertainment in major US markets. Prior to joining High Street Equity Partners, Shannon founded Champion Diaries Management to support athletes, entrepreneurs, and government agencies, with a focus on messaging and brand positioning. Born and raised in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, Shannon is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, and Florida International University.
