This presentation will focus on legal issues related to buying or renting real estate in the Champaign-Urbana area. For buyers, the presentation will cover the standard Champaign County MLS contract, rights that a buyer might have in that process, and potential issues that may arise. For renters, we’ll discuss standard lease clauses and other protections for renters, such as local ordinances.

Joe Souligne is a University of Illinois graduate (B.S. ’12, J.D. ’18) and associate attorney at Webber & Thies, P.C. in Urbana. He focuses his practice in the areas of real estate transactions, business representation and general litigation. He is also an ambassador with the Chambana Welcome Crew and member of the Young Professionals of Champaign-Urbana, as well as a graduate of the Emerging Community Leaders program of the United Way of Champaign County.
