Crafty Adults | Abstract Art Making

Wed, Jun 14, 2023
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Come learn a new craft at Crafty Adults!

Are you curious about how to create your own abstract paintings? Join us to learn how! This workshop will feature recorded instruction from Creativebug and live instruction from Library staff member Cat Purcell. We'll have many different painting supplies for you to test out and help you decide which supplies you want to invest in. You'll also learn some tips on how to make your art a daily practice.

Crafters of all skill levels are welcome!

About the Creativebug Instructor: Born and raised in Portland, OR, Abby Houston lives, teaches, creates art and raises her three daughters. Abby has developed a daily creative practice that has become a necessary and automatic part of developing and maintaining her creative identity. Abby’s colorful and expressive abstract works reflect a sense of calm and chaos, fluidity and structure. Abby works primarily in acrylics on canvas and is inspired by the natural and internal worlds she lives in.

About the Presenter: This workshop is presented by Library staff member Cat Purcell, who is a maker of many mediums. She is a published illustrator and enjoys creating art.

Registration opens  June 1 at 9:00 am (closes June 13). Registration is required.
