The Covid-19 pandemic has brought unfathomable stress and pain for small business owners and entrepreneurs. However, the pandemic has also given business leaders the opportunity to reprioritize and rethink decisions that might have been good at the time but are no longer tenable, and shift their focus to continue driving success. The change in mindset and enforced flexibility has changed the way we do business.
Join us and local business owners for a conversation about:
- What they did to sustain growth during the pandemic
- Reflections on the pre-, mid-, and anticipated post-pandemic
- Reflections on how their businesses, strategies, and mindsets have changed

About the Panelists:
Anna Gutsch and Johann Rischau are the owners of Norden Design, a multi-disciplinary design team creating cohesive, long lasting experiences through products, color and space.
Memoire Budimbu Mabiza and Lisette Mbaki are the owners of The Best of Africa's Food Store, offers a wide variety of African products, including grocery items, beer and wine, hygiene products, kitchen supplies, and traditional African clothing. Since opening for business in 2015, the business has expanded twice. The most recent expansion – completed earlier this year – included the addition of a new event space. They are also the award winners of the 2020 SBA Illinois Family-Owned Small Business of the Year.
