Volunteers are needed to help with after-school programming for middle school students (6th to 8th grade). Tasks include set up and clean up of teen activities, leading or assisting with an activity, or any other tasks assigned by staff. Volunteers are currently needed Monday to Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and adheres to Champaign Unit 4's calendar. We are looking for volunteers who know how to sew or love crafty activities. Training is provided, but creativity, a good sense of humor, and an appreciation for teens are needed for this rewarding opportunity. Adult volunteers (18 years or older) are welcome at this time. Background check is required.
Please contact the library’s volunteer coordinator to set up a volunteer interview. An interview with a volunteer coordinator must be completed before volunteer work can begin. Please email volunteer@champaign.org or call 217/403-2070, ext. 3 to schedule an interview. All of our volunteer positions include ongoing tasks and are not a one time or short term volunteer opportunity. We ask for a minimum commitment of four months when volunteering. Every volunteer will have a regular working schedule with a minimum of two hours each week.
