A former board member of the esteemed Chicago Jazz Ensemble at Columbia College Chicago, Whitman is also a past member of the Arthur W. Page Society, former PRWeek Awards judge, past member of the Executive Leadership Council, past Public Image Chair, Rotary International District 6490 and the Rotary Club of Champaign. He currently serves on the board of the Urbana Neighborhood Connections Center, a grassroots organization focused on education and skills development for underserved youth.
