Sun, Mar 31, 2019
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Enjoy an afternoon of fun and popular music with a cappella choral group the Toast of Champaign Sweet Adelines!

The Toast of Champaign Sweet Adelines (formerly Champaign-Urbana Sweet Adelines) are proud members of Sweet Adelines International. The chapter was chartered on April 19, 1952 and has been in existence nearly as long as the International Organization itself. Currently they have approximately 40 members and are always looking for new a cappella harmony talent throughout Champaign and the surrounding communities. The group holds rehearsals every Tuesday night, present a show every fall and compete every spring against other regional choral groups.

Jackie Compton, the director since 1980, brings an abundance of energy and a great sense of humor to every rehearsal. Her sincere love of barbershop singing inspires the Sweet Adelines each week. Jackie has led the Toast of Champaign to many awards, including Most Improved Chorus and Audience Choice award two years in a row. They love the fact that they continue to grow not just in numbers but musically as well.
