Whether you work in the corporate, public or nonprofit sphere, joining a nonprofit board of directors can be a great boost to your career. Serving on a board is a wonderful way to build your leadership skills, grow your network, learn how nonprofits operate and make a difference in our community. And learning how to serve effectively as a board member, can make a huge difference to the impact of your nonprofit’s mission.

Join this panel discussion of current board leaders to learn:

  • How you can strengthen the local social impact sector and build community on a board of directors
  • Characteristics of a high impact board and essentials of board governance
  • What skills and expertise are needed most of nonprofit board members

  • The board's role in fundraising and community engagement
  • What is expected of board members in terms of time and financial commitment 
  • Ways to increase the effectiveness of your board service
