Renew items to keep them longer
If no one else is waiting for an item that you have checked out, you can “renew” it and keep it longer. You'll get one additional loan period, starting from the date you renew. Just be sure to renew before library closing on the day the item is due.
How to Renew
You can renew items:
- In your online account; click "My Account/Renew" at the top of this page, then click the "My Account" tab.
- By calling 217/403–2000 (please have your library card handy)
- At the Checkout Desk
Most items can be renewed 3 times, as long as no one else has requested them. Renewing will give you one additional loan period, starting from the date you renew. You can see your new due dates in your online account, or call us at 217/403–2000.
Please be aware that renewal policies for items borrowed from other libraries may be different than ours.
