Summer Reading Game: Have Book, Will Travel

Let books take you on a reading adventure this summer with our reading game, “Have Book, Will Travel.” Prizes funded by the Library Friends add to the fun. The game goes from June 1 to August 15, and is for babies to 4th-grade graduates. Register online or at the library. “Rookie Cooks” at the Branch

Healthy eating is a major concern today. At our Rookie Cooks events, led by U of I Extension staff and held on one Monday each month, children can learn basic food preparation skills—a lesson with lifelong benefits. Attend any or all sessions; each has a different topic. To register, call 217/403-2090. Upcoming dates are Jun. 24 and Jul. 22 at 3 pm and Aug. 26 at 4 pm.

Thursday and Saturday Events for Kids in June and July

We’ve peppered our summer schedule with great events for kids at 2 pm every Thursday and Saturday through July. The June schedule includes yoga based on animal poses; the Bow-Dacious String Band, and live birds from the Wildlife Medical Clinic.
