Keep track of your library stuff with a little help from Library Elf

Library Elf is a free service that helps you know when you (or your whole family) have library items due, waiting to be picked up, or overdue. And it’s customizable, so you decide how early — and how often — you get reminders.

What can you get from Elf?

  • Get e-mail notices before items are due; you decide when they come
  • Get e-mail notices when you have something on hold
  • Get e-mail reminders that you have something overdue
  • Get text messages on the day an item is due, or goes on hold
  • See a calendar showing all of your due dates

If you have more than one library card in your family, you can enter them all into one Elf account so there’s just one place to check for all of those due dates!

Who might want to use Elf?

  • Anyone who wants to reduce overdues
  • Families with children — and lots of books!
  • People who request lots of holds

A “Snooze Button’ for Books

One Champaign patron who loves Elf said it was like having a helpful snooze button, giving you repeated reminders until you take action!
