“When my mom was pregnant with me...she arranged for [a party] to be held in the library auditorium....”

By Judah H., November 2007

My older brothers had not been to a party for a while when my mom was pregnant with me, so she arranged for one to be held in the library auditorium on a Saturday for them. She knew that she may not be able to make it there so she arranged everything in boxes with instructions about what was in that box. The Thursday night before the party my mom went into labor. Our neighbor who was invited to the party saw my parents leave and called everybody and told them that the party was off. She called my parents at the hospital after I was born Friday and told them that the party was off, not to worry. My mother calmly told her to call everyone back and tell them the party was still on. My mom and I both enjoyed the party with my brothers. So the first time our entire family was at the library was when I was 1 day old.
