The author of the bestselling book Choosing Civility: The Twenty-Five Rules of Considerate Conduct will speak at the Champaign Public Library on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 7 p.m.

Dr. P.M. Forni, co-founder of the Johns Hopkins Civility Project and a leading authority on the significance of civility and manners, will explore what it means to be civil in today’s society, how it can improve our quality of life, and why it should be a focus at home, at work and in our schools.

Dr. Forni’s work has inspired a number of communities to launch civility initiatives, including Los Angeles, California, and Howard County, Maryland. He has appeared on ABC World News Tonight, CBS Sunday Morning, Oprah, and BBC’s Outlook and has been featured in numerous publications including the New York Times, the Times of London, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, and Forbes Magazine.
