Applying for library jobs

When to Apply

We accept applications only for open positions. If you are not selected for a position, we encourage you to apply again when another open position is announced. Keep an eye on our website or the classified ads in The News-Gazette.

We also have many volunteer opportunities at the library. It’s a great way to find out what it’s like to work here and help your community at the same time.

Where to Apply

Submit your application to Library Administration, Champaign Public Library, 200 W. Green St., Champaign, 61820–5193. Mail it in or drop it off in person; the office is open weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.

You can also fax your application to 217/403–2053 or e-mail it to jobs@champaign.org. (Please use that e-mail for application submissions only.)

Although the library is an agency of the City of Champaign, all inquiries and applications for library positions should go to the library rather than the City Personnel Office.

Application forms and job descriptions for open positions are available at the library as well as online. Be sure to check the information about the job you are interested in to see if you need to submit additional material such as a letter of application or a resume.

If you have trouble opening our application, we’d be glad to e-mail the form to you. Contact librarian@champaign.org

If You Have a Disability

You may request special accommodations to help complete the selection process.

Questions? Contact Library Administration at 217/403–2050, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
